Winnie Soon is an artist-researcher who resides in Hong Kong and Denmark. Her works explore the notions of unpredictability, temporality and automation in computational culture. Soon’s artworks are often perceived in the areas of software/net/media art, and her projects and seminars have been presented internationally at galleries, art events, universities and conferences. Currently, she is completing a PhD at The Center for Participatory IT (School of Communication and Culture) in Aarhus University.

Winnie Soon is an artist-researcher who resides in Hong Kong and Denmark. She has a MA from School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong and a MSc from Institute of Digital Art and Technology, Plymouth University in UK, and 10 years experience as a programmer, usability designer, information architect and project manager in both corporate and educational settings.

Soon’s artworks are often perceived in the areas of software/net/media art, exploring the notions of unpredictability, temporality and automation in computational culture. Her projects and lectures have been presented internationally at galleries, art events, universities and conferences, including but not limited to Transmediale2015, ISEA2015 and 2016, V&A Museum, Si Shang Art Museum, Microwave International Media Arts Festival, FutureEverything Art Exhibition, Taipei National University of Arts and The University of Hong Kong. Soon is currently completing a PhD at The Center for Participatory IT (School of Communication and Culture) in Aarhus University (DK), researching the novel material framework of liveness in contemporary software culture.
